SHOTT is a daily photography challenge app. Every day a new prompt drops — you shoot it, submit it, and compete on a global leaderboard. No filters, no heavy editing. Just your eye and your camera.
Yes. SHOTT is free to download and the core challenge experience is completely free. There are no ads. We may offer optional features in the future, but the competitive core will always be free.
SHOTT requires iOS 17.0 or later on iPhone. iPad is not currently supported. An Android version is on the roadmap but has no confirmed release date.
Challenges
Daily challenges reset at midnight in your local timezone. Weekly challenges reset every Monday. Monthly challenges reset on the 1st of each month. You'll receive a push notification when a new challenge drops if notifications are enabled.
Mystery challenges hide the prompt until you're ready. Once you tap "Reveal", the prompt is shown and a 30-minute countdown begins immediately. You must submit your photo within that window. The timer cannot be paused or reset — this is enforced server-side.
Basic adjustments — exposure, contrast, colour grading, cropping — are allowed and encouraged. Compositing, generative AI, removing or adding objects, and heavy manipulation that changes the reality of the scene are not. See our Community Standards for the full breakdown.
You can delete your submission at any time from your profile. Deleting a submission removes it from the leaderboard and any points earned for that submission are revoked. You can only submit one entry per challenge — there is no re-submit option.
Points & Leaderboard
Base points are 10 for daily, 25 for weekly, and 60 for monthly challenges. A streak bonus adds extra points for consecutive days of participation — the longer the streak, the bigger the multiplier. You can see your exact point breakdown in the Scoring tab inside the app.
Your daily streak resets to zero. You do not lose previously earned points — the streak simply stops multiplying until you rebuild it. Weekly and monthly streaks operate independently from daily streaks.
The global leaderboard ranks all users by total cumulative points. It updates in real time. Daily and weekly sub-leaderboards reset with each challenge cycle. There is also a per-challenge leaderboard showing rankings for each individual prompt.
Head-to-head
Tap any challenge, then tap "Challenge a friend". You'll be able to search for or select from people you follow. They'll receive a notification and have 24 hours to accept. Once both parties submit, the winner is announced.
If your opponent doesn't submit within the challenge window after accepting, you win by default and receive the full points for that challenge type. The incomplete duel is marked as a forfeit on their record.
Account & privacy
Go to Settings → Privacy → Account Privacy and toggle to Private. Private accounts still participate in global leaderboards but your individual submissions are only visible to your approved followers.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, all submissions, points, and personal data within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
Tap the three-dot menu on any post or profile and choose "Report". Select the reason and submit. Our moderation team reviews reports within 48 hours. For urgent safety concerns, email safety@getshott.app.
