SHOTT exists because photographers respect each other's work. Keep it competitive, keep it honest, keep it human.

The spirit of SHOTT

SHOTT is built on one idea: the best shot wins, not the best edit, the most followers, or the loudest voice. Everyone starts on equal footing — a prompt, a camera, and a deadline. Our community standards exist to protect that equality.

These rules apply to everything you post: photos, comments, captions, usernames, and profile content.

Photography integrity

Shoot it yourself. Every submission must be a photo you took yourself during the challenge window. AI-generated images, stock photos, screenshots, and other people's work are not allowed.

No manipulation beyond basic editing. Exposure, contrast, colour grading, and cropping are fair game. Compositing, removing or adding elements, generative fill, and AI enhancement are not. Filters that alter the fundamental reality of the scene are prohibited.

Respect the prompt. Submissions must genuinely respond to the challenge prompt. Off-topic entries may be removed from leaderboards at our discretion.

Mystery challenges are real-time. When the timer starts, it starts. You may not pre-take the photo before revealing the prompt.

Content we do not allow

Behaviour toward others

Competition is healthy. Disrespect is not. Comments should be constructive, relevant, or encouraging. Personal attacks, slurs, and coordinated harassment campaigns will result in immediate removal. Repeated low-quality behaviour — even if below the threshold of a ban — will result in warnings and reduced reach.

If someone asks you to stop engaging with them, stop.

Reporting and enforcement

Use the in-app report button on any post, comment, or profile. Our moderation team reviews reports within 48 hours. For urgent safety issues, email safety@getshott.app.

Consequences range from content removal and point deductions to temporary suspension and permanent bans, depending on severity and history. We do not disclose moderation actions taken on other accounts.

You may appeal a decision within 14 days by emailing appeals@getshott.app with your username and a description of the situation.
